Remembering His Present Rest
When God stitched the seams of this world together, when he zipped in hope and joy, he knew where you would lay your head. From birth he guarded you at rest in cradle and in crib. He knew your midnight risings and placed stars at your feet. His stars continue to light the way through any darkness.
Although you may not recall the tightness of your womb where God intricately created you, today His omniscience similarlily wraps a security blanket around you. His omnipotent arms rock you. From the safety of a cradle to the uncertainty of a decision-filled life, He guides every move. He knows when your feet meet the floor or when you can barely stumble out of bed. He knows the tears that stain your pillow. And yes, when on the cross He stitched a blood-stained quilt of pure hope, he laid it upon your bed. (Psalm 139)
“For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.” I Peter 1:20-21
